Faun by ehenders Faun by ehenders
This is another drawing originally done for the Pan's Labyrinth sketchbook contest, where if you don't read the fine print they will take your art from you.

I wanted to do a piece about one of the portals to the mortal world that withered away. I like the idea that the faun never actually dies because he is reborn through the flowers and vines that will eventually destroy his physical form.

Definitely like how you blended flora with the FAUNa. He looks like a vine-choked tree, but his animalistic side is still obvious!

I really like the heavy, tired posture of your faun. The little detail in all of the flowers and leaves and vines is just amazing.

Wow, beautiful linework. You really pull a lot of character from your lines.

Aw. I love your description. Yeah, the bit about the other portals caught my curiousity, as well. I wonder what the other fauns (or guardians or whatever) were like.

Well, I think I have to apologise myself. I'm not a english speaker, and sometimes I don't know the exactly meaning of the words. Recently I discovered that the "trace" word isn't the best word to use to compliment an artist. In my language "trace" is not just to put ink in a drawing, it means "a unique and personal way of draw". And you have this quality. Sorry if I was misunderstood.
